A Note on This Beer
Definition of “Glow Up:” to go from the bottom to the top, to the point of disbelief. An incredible transformation.
Glow Up is precisely what Washington’s new haze royalty — Vancouver’s Trap Door Brewing — has done in the past year!
This tiny, 15 barrel brewery stole the show at the 2019 Washington Beer Awards — they took home a whopping four medals, including Gold in the highly-competitive Hazy category for their Glowed Up NE-Style IPA!
We haven’t seen a brewery dominate the Hazy style so quickly since the early days of Toppling Goliath!
And, these haze masters set the juice loose with an extra bright dose of passionfruit and ruby red grapefruit flavor in today’s Citra Glowed Up. In fact, they double dry-hopped it with over 6 lbs of Citra Hops per barrel, making it juicier than the latest tabloid gossip!
Cans of this precious hop candy are certainly a sight to behold. They’re hard to find, even in the brewery’s home state — so getting a few pints will make your friends a little jealous.
But don’t hesitate, because we only managed to secure a small stash of this crown jewel, and it won’t last long once the thirsty masses hear about it.
Bright citrus aromas swell from the pour as golden as the brewery’s newest medal. Tangy passionfruit, ripe grapefruit, and sweet floral notes parade across the palate, making every sip juicier than the last. Sweet pine resin balances the fruitiness for a soft, dry finish, while the haze gives it a soft mouthfeel that makes the 6.8% ABV as light as a cloud.
It’s not often that you get to hold beer royalty in your hands. Grab some cans of Glowed Up for you and your buds, and drink like the beer king or queen you are.
