A Note on This Beer

Back in the day, I received a VERY specific prize in exchange for good grades — an entire box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch, all to myself.

That’s right! Straight A’s meant bowls of sweet, cinnamon goodness just for my own, adolescent indulgence.

So, when I heard Wolf’s Ridge Brewing was re-releasing their spice-blasted, coffee-soaked adult version of my breakfast favorite, Clear Sky Cinnamon Toast Brunch Cream Ale, I practically tripped sprinting out the door. I needed this morning delight in my beer fridge — quick!

The brewers began with their refreshing, pillowy-soft Clear Sky Cream Ale base, infused with locally sourced coffee. Afterward, they added lush waves of sweet vanilla and cinnamon spice for all the nostalgic flavors flowing from the iconic cereal.

Layers of biscuity-goodness cascades across the palate alongside ripples of rich espresso. At the taste’s end, heaps of woody spice delight the taste buds.

While hitting high marks in school is no longer a factor, a tough workday certainly warrants a glass or two of this silky sipper. It’s a true prize!

The coffee nearly obliterates the cinnamon and vanilla, so this tastes almost exactly like their Daybreak cream ale. On that level, it’s a disappointment.

STRONG cinnamon. It’s a little overwhelming on the palate both aroma and flavor wise. The coffee is there, but takes a background note sadly.

I tasted the coffee up front and the cinnamon on the back end. Didn’t get a super creamy flavor, very very subtle.

Very very subtle cinnamon flavor. Because this is a cream ale it seems to be very mildly flavored. Hints of coffee. I've had some really nicely flavored cinnamon beers and this one is much too subtle in flavor to consider again
