About This Beer
The US Beer Open medal-winning team at Wild Leap set out into a brave new world with this year’s batch of fresh-hopped Coast West Double IPA.
They crafted it with YCH Trial 301 Hops — an experimental variety from Yakima Chief that was first released in July 2022! The whole cones were flash frozen, then processed into concentrated, pelletized lupulin, allowing brewers to extract the nuances of fresh hops more reliably than by simply tossing the buds into the brew.
Tasting Notes
This East Coast-West Coast hybrid boasts a mild haze and moderate bitterness. Its citrusy nose gives way to a balance of tropical juice and dank resin on the sip. Mango, pineapple, and overripe papaya wrap around notes of grapefruit pith and pine in each satisfying, 10% ABV quaff.

Rich and dank with a hit of pineapple on the nose. Fairly dry with lots of hops in the middle and a solid, bitter finish.

Aroma is filled with grapefruit and tangerine along with a hint of pine. Taste follows aroma with light biscuity malt notes. Nice bitterness to round out the finish.
