A Note on This Beer
Today’s tangy, tropical smoothie from Humble Forager is a special kind of Sour Ale. The fruity sweetness and tart acidity in Coastal Sunshine is as evenly balanced as the Scales of Justice!
If you think I sound crazy, just ask the beer geeks at The Full Pint. They praise the way Coastal Sunshine “gets it perfect… an absolutely colossal amount of tropical fruit content coupled with enough sweetness … and just enough acidity.”
For the “colossal amount of tropical fruit” in today’s Version 8, the brewers loaded it up with a boatload of real mangoes from India, pink passionfruit from Thailand, and fuzzy, West Coast apricots and peaches!
Luscious waves of drippy stone fruit flavors abound in every sip, with mango and peach taking the lead and passionfruit lending a creamy sweetness. At the same time, a tongue-tingling tartness zings across the taste buds, keeping all that full-bodied fruitiness bright and zippy before fading peacefully into a satisfyingly dry finish.
It’s as if the brewers took some straight-up tropical punch, blended it into a thick and luxurious fruit smoothie, and then blasted it with a few puckering spritzes of lime juice for good measure.
They say perfection isn’t attainable, but I’ve gotta say that this Coastal Sunshine comes pretty darn close! Why not take a sip and find out for yourself?
