About This Beer
Another Medianoche variant, another astonishing list of barrels! The brewers blended this one from Imperial Stouts aged for 20-24 months in freshly emptied:
19-year Elijah Craig Bourbon, 15-year Sazerac Rye Whiskey, 15-year Blanton’s Bourbon, 10-year Old Forester Birthday Bourbon, 10-year Eagle Rare, 6-year Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Rye Whiskey, and 6-year E.H. Taylor Bourbon barrels.
And apparently even that wasn’t enough for them, so they also conditioned the beer on fresh and toasted coconut, then finished it on Philippine dark roast coffee.
Tasting Notes
This brew is almost absurdly thick, with huge cocoa notes — it’s like a chocolate milkshake with coconut, coffee, and a big splash of bourbon! You really could pour it over ice cream. Heck, you could almost eat it with a spoon by itself!
