About This Beer
To craft this utterly unique stunner, the pioneers at Odd Breed blended two brews. 55% of the blend is a decocted Munich-style Helles brewed with German malt and hops. After fermenting cold with lager yeast, it was aged in French oak barrels for 26 months with their house mixed culture. 45% of the blend is an American DIPA that was open fermented with ale yeast before 18 months of aging in French oak with Odd Breed’s house mixed culture. Then, after blending, the beer was delicately dry hopped with whole cone Belma Hops for further Pale Ale-like expressions.
Tasting Notes
Intricate aromas of vibrant citrus, wet hay, and bright oak erupt out of every deep golden pour. The taste follows with subtle brett-y funk and hints of biscuit mingling with juicy strawberry and orange peel tones from the hops. Tart notes of grapefruit, lemon, and apricot swirl throughout bringing acidic complexity before a dry, tannic finish.
