Things that happened in 2022: folks packed movie theaters to watch Tom Cruise bring back Top Gun, Stranger Things introduced a new generation to the music of Kate Bush, and the crew at Allagash began brewing today’s Coolship Resurgam. 

The brewers allowed their spontaneously fermented brew to age in French Oak wine barrels for 3 years. Then, they blended it with two more Wild Ales aged one and two years respectively, creating an intricate, endlessly complex Cuvee-style Ale. They bottled it in 2025, and it’s been slumbering in Allagash’s cellar ever since. 

With time, the brew has grown smoother and crisper, bringing subdued acidity and beautifully balanced notes of grassy funk. Hints of citrus and lemongrass sparkle through each sip, with nuances of vinous white wine, crisp apple, and just a touch of bitterness in the dry finish. 

You can’t go back in time, but with a bottle of Coolship Resurgam (2025), you can taste all those bygone years. We recommend sipping it slowly on a crisp evening while you contemplate the good times you’ve had, and all the wonderful things to come.
