About This Beer
When they first crafted an Imperial Stout-Barleywine hybrid, Fonta Flora knew they wanted to make a mildly spiced and cocoa-y version.
To make it, they blended an 18 month double barrel-aged Barleywine with an 18 month bourbon barrel-aged Imperial Stout conditioned on freshly grated nutmeg and cacao nibs. Each sip is like savoring a delectably boozy sticky toffee pudding.
Tasting Notes
A swirl of the glass leads you into Coracoid [Cocoa and Nutmeg]’s rich, malty tones of caramel, dates, and raisins. A layer of chocolatey depth shades hints of leathery tobacco and dried fig, while oaky vanilla and nutmeg bring in nuances of creamy custard.

Subtle notes of cocoa at the outset. Boozy rendition of barleywine and stout blend. Small amount of bitterness lingers on the tongue.

Boozy. That's about it on the flavor. It's not bad. Not amazing either.

Thick, dark and chocolate. Has a nice woody and nutty nose. Medium dark chocolate taste with a bit of cocoa bitterness and barrel aging
