A Note on This Beer
Here’s the sweet lowdown on today’s beer: it’s called Cotton Candy IPA, and with good reason. It’s fluffy as all get-out, and after bursts of tropical fruit flavors, there’s the distinctive taste of colorful spun sugar on the finish.
But, here’s the real kicker — the brewers didn’t use any cotton candy!
Amazingly, the mad flavor scientists at Wisconsin’s Untitled Art and their likeminded collab partners at Collective Arts achieved this sugary magic trick via a six-way hop lineup. Doses of Citra, Amarillo, and Galaxy Hops bring on juicy whispers of orange and tangerine backed with creamy peach, while a combo of Belma, Mosaic and Sabro Hops deliver notes of bubblegum, raspberry, and melon.
Put all together on your tongue in the form of luscious, pillowy hazy hopjuice, and it’s like a bite of tropical cotton candy!
And, just in case my word on this cotton candy-coated sipper seems too incredulous, here’s just a small sampling of the baffled praise pouring in from early tasters:
“How is this real? Cotton candy sweetness with a mild hop bite. Delicious!” @Paul D.
“Whoa. Crazy but it works!” @Chris K.
“Tastes like cotton candy. Wow. Never expected a beer to taste like this!” @Greg.
*From beers that taste like fudgesicles to macaroon-inspired pours, Untitled Art’s sweet-themed sippers have racked up a mountain of 4+ Tavour ratings! Their Canadian buddies at Collective Arts collaborate with breweries and artists ‘round the world to "bring art, beer, and music to life."
