A Note on This Beer
Today’s dry-hopped Summer Lager from the fellas at Matchless has a Gen Z -worthy name that’s hard to say with a straight face: Crispy Bois.
Now, if you’re like me and aren’t hip and on fleek (= On Trend) with all the latest internet lingo, let’s have a quick lesson as I explain today’s beer.
Urban Dictionary defines Crispy Boi as a type of Lager or Ale that is Golden, filtered to clarity, and overall CRISP.
TBH (= To Be Honest), that sounds like something I would crush, especially since it comes from the brewing squad at Matchless. These guys have been open for less than three years and already boast a whole trophy case of shiny awards, including a whopping 6 medals at the Washington Beer Awards!
And their award-winning expertise legit (abrv. “legitimately”) shines through in every sip of today’s summertime refresher. Using toasted rice and Old World Lager yeast, the brewers achieve an easy-drinking dryness that leaves you reaching for another mouthful.
Next, they add a medley of hops during various stages of the brewing process: Calista Hops for bittering in the mash, Galaxy Hops in the whirlpool for subtle pine notes, and dry-hopped with heaps of Vic Secret Hops for tropical fruity flavors.
The result? A chuggably hopped-up, 4.2% ABV thirst-quencher that pleases hopheads and Lager fans alike — call me shook (= Surprised), but I didn’t think they’d ever agree on something!
Pop open the top and let delicate aromas of lemongrass and apricot greet the nose from an effervescent, straw-yellow pour. Bright notes of juicy pineapple and nectarous peach appear in every sip, while a biscuity malt body and a hint of pine balance the fruitiness on the finish. With a light body and clean finish, Crispy Bois is a quencher that will have you feeling lit (= Not Sober) in no time!
Oh, and did I mention that every sip is crisp AF (= As F*ck)?
Bring some cans of this crushable brew to your next party and teach your friends how to “turn up” (= Party) or “Netflix and chill” (= Hangout) with bae (= Significant Other).
Or, you could just drink great beer. You know, like grown-ups.
This beer is too new for ratings.
