About This Beer
Horus brewer Kyle Harrop developed the style as a cross between an English Barleywine and a Wee Heavy, using 100% Crystal malts. And for this variant, he matured a base of dark crystal malts in Old Elk wheated bourbon barrels for a whopping 38 months.
Tasting Notes
The stunning result blooms with barrel character, with each medium-bodied taste displaying a full array of brown sugar and toffee nuances touched by vanilla oak and whiskey caramel. Touches of chocolate-covered raisins and barrel char ground the gulp, complementing its sweeter elements with an extra depth.
