A Note on This Beer
HEADS UP!!! We scored brews from the U.S. Open Beer Championship winners at TUPPS — this is not a drill!
If you’ve been paying any attention to Texas’ booming craft scene, you know that TUPPS has been tearing it up since 2015. Their brews are so beloved by locals, the brewery plans to double in size in early 2022 just to keep up with demand.
Those of you who are still sleeping on these Lone Star legends — situated at the top of Eater’s Excellent Dallas Craft Breweries list — consider this juice-drenched 2-pack your one-way ticket aboard the TUPPS hype train.
We recommend calling over your fellow hopheads for a sunny day brew share! Now might be a good time to get those pint glasses chilled, because here’s what your blissful, haze-filled afternoon could look like:
First, crack open the big kahuna: The New Big Other One DDH Imperial IPA!
The brewers pack this 8.3% ABV blast of hop nectar with 100% Citra Hops, so it’s super tropical and slightly bitter. It’s like a hoppy fruit-cocktail-in-a-can, with all its lavish layers of tangy OJ, succulent mango, ripe apricot, and a touch of lemongrass.
Next, grab another cooled glass from the fridge and fill it with the smooth-as-silk DDH Alpha Drop!
This one’s a TUPPS staple. The brewers load it up with Galaxy, Nelson Sauvin, Citra Cryo, and Cryo Mosaic Hops!
Its 7% ABV is almost undetectable behind soft ribbons of tropical juice, and a touch of white grape. Imagine blending a scoop of peach sorbet into a pineapple, papaya, and mango smoothie, and you’ll have an idea of what you’re in for!
We’ll be over here setting up our lawn chairs, tossing on some groovy beer drinkin’ tunes, and preparing our taste buds for a long awaited TUPPS tasting excursion! What about you?
*TUPPS’ new space features a 12,000 square foot taproom in an original grain milling building, a state-of-the-art production facility, a large outdoor stage, and a retail shopping area featuring local craftsmen!
