About This Beer
Stare into Shadowman’s thick, onyx depths and take in all the rich, malty complexity that this luscious elixir has to offer.
The dark beer masters at River North crafted an Imperial Stout so toasty and layered, your tastebuds will be singing with notes of everything that is dark and nuanced.
Cellarable up to 10 years.
Tasting Notes
Molasses, baker’s chocolate, raisins, and dried figs glide smoothly over a distinct espresso depth — absent any coffee in the brew. Oaky vanilla segues into toffee for a mildly sweet and boozy 14.5% ABV finish.

This is what you need to measure other stouts against. Big beer with warming effects for a cold winter night.

Flavor is cocoa, mesquite, toast, charcoal, nuts, and a dry woody finish. Very rich without being overly sweet. Flavor evokes the feeling of being around a campfire. Drinks very slowly, and has a hint of boozy numbness after a few sips. A superb stout experience, very well balanced. I will hopefully have more of this some day.

Not remotely boozy for the ABV. Dangerous.

Smokey chocolate with a burnt sugar aftertaste. Complex but simple if that even makes sense. Good beer

Another fantastic chapter in the Decennial line. Great aromas. Deep, but simple flavors of intensely roasted coffee that is rich and complex but doesn’t overshadow the iconic imperial stout style. This is very much to the point and perfectly executed.

Chocolate and a little roasty. A little flat at the end

Dark malts, chocolate with hints of espresso

Good barrel presence but finish is a bit thin for me.

Dark, roasty Chocolate aromas, thick, slick, big, complex, layered notes of near nutty, roasted Chocolate malts, hints of sweet, dark fruits, and almost savory, just short of porcine. Age up to one decade, ya right. This is excellent right now. 4.4.

Um, wow. That’s good. Pours like oil. Surprising reddish tint to this dark beer. Thick and boozy.

Not my favorite of the 4 that came in- but a really impressive imperial stout. The age really makes it unique. It almost has a saltiness to it.

This is perfection in a bottle! chocolaty, malty goodness, with the perfect consistency (the right amount of thickness).
