A Note on This Beer
No, you’re not dreaming — we finally snagged a limited-release specialty brew from Grimm!
That means 2 things: first, you can stop emailing and calling and blowing up our social media with requests for this Brooklyn brewery.
And second, you better scroll straight down and smash that order button, because we only have 400 bottles of today’s super-fruity Flanders-style Depth of Field.
Blink, and you’re likely to miss it.
Which would be a real shame, because this single-batch, limited-edition Ale is loaded with over 50 lbs per barrel of tangy cranberries, tart cherries, and brightly sweet raspberries!
And all that fruit is swirled through a mind-bendingly complex base beer inspired by the ‘Coupage’ Ales of Belgium. First, the brewers crafted a sweet, caramelly, Brown Ale with notes of burnt brown sugar and candied dates. Then, they blended it with a Golden Sour Ale aged in California wine barrels for vinous notes of green grape and hints of oaky vanilla.
Let a sip luxuriate on your palate and you’ll experience layer after layer of deeply rich flavors, from cranberry sauce to cherry jam to a hint of wild funk.
Even in the Northeast, Grimm brews are hard to come by — especially these limited releases — but they still earn a spot as one of Paste Mags 50 Best Breweries of the Last Decade.
And they didn’t even have a taproom until 2018!
So get yourself a bottle or two of Depth of Field and prepare to dive deep into a whole new world of flavor with one of the country’s most sought after breweries.
