About This Beer
The crew at Michigan's Brewery Vivant strikes a balance between dark and hoppy by combining IPA ingredients with a Stout's aging process to concoct their Devastation Bourbon Barrel Aged DIPA!
Tasting Notes
I can’t help but rock out to the tropical, juicy gulps of ripe mango and zesty citrus provided by this brew’s Citra Hops. It smooths out the Buffalo Trace bourbon barrel heat while allowing the oaky vanilla notes to pierce through the deceptively light body. And each warming pull of this Imperial is a buzzy 9.2% ABV.

16oz can from Tavour. Golden pour, light cloudiness, small foamy white head. Aroma is overripe melon, tropical and citrus fruit, floral notes. Taste adds some earthy hops, light dank aspects, tropical fruit. Sweet and then bitter. Quite a kick too.

Points for being interesting, but not a fan of this combination of flavors-- strong bourbon flavor overpowers the hops

Super unique beer. definitely on the hoppier side, but not overpowering. The bourbon barrel aged flavor comes through as well. Doesn't come off as a fruity, tropical beer to me, but that's ok

What it’s gonna be tonight in Alabama! edition. This is Citra tropical goodness with a peachy edge. Not boozy or too bourbony, just mellow warmth and super tasty.
