A Note on This Beer
Every time the Dark Beer masters at Adroit Theory release a dark and boozy brew, it sells out before it’s even finished brewing.
It’s freakin’ insane.
They don’t enter competitions and it’s pretty much impossible to find their beers anywhere outside of Virginia. But even still, devilishly smooth behemoths like today’s 13.7% ABV Dia de Los Muertos Russian Imperial Stout disappear before they’re even been bottled.
So when I heard they were resurrecting what they call the “biggest, most robust beer we’ve ever brewed,” I immediately hopped on a plane to Purcellville and brought back a tiny stash to share with you all.
Earning a 4.12 on UT for its blast of bittersweet chocolate and towering ABV, this decadent Stout is an essential taste of Adroit’s Dark Beer mastery. One sip of this boozy, chocolatey beast will make your palate come alive.
Better grab your bottles fast, though — our members are so hooked on this boozy cocoa-soaked darkness, they’ve rated every batch of Los Muertos over 4.10 on Tavour. And I don’t expect they’ll let these boozy, nano-batch beasts hang around for long.
Share this with your most savage Stout companion and watch as they’re transported into a realm of roast-induced mayhem. Robust, earthy aromas swell from the pitch black pour. Layers of caramel-drizzled fudge and chocolate-covered espresso beans swirl around waves of tobacco and candied figs.
Oh, and by the way, be careful with this one. Adroit uses Belgian Candi Syrup to inject Los Muertos with a delicate sweetness, and a final wave of velvety ganache conceals the double-digit ABV so deftly, you won’t even know what hit ya’.
