Rum Barrel-Aged beer is incredibly sought-after because the barrels are crazy expensive and super fragile.  We’ve seen some breweries cramming crayons, toothpicks, and using all kinds of crazy techniques to keep Rum Barrels functioning. 

But the boozy brew specialists at Adroit Theory don’t have time for patching up leaks. There’s so much demand for their beers, they often sell out from pre-orders before they even finish brewing!

So instead of breaking their backs to create today’s 4.32 UT-rated Dark Rum Barrel-Aged Dia De Los Muertos Imperial Stout, they used only a few hand-selected barrels and stuck to making an extremely small-batch.

It’s so tiny that we were only able to snag 600 bottles for Tavour members! 

We do feel a little bit bad we’re robbing Virginia locals of a beer that has Untappd fans “astonished by its relentless 13.7% ABV hidden beneath layers of baker’s chocolate.” But after finishing a bottle, we're pretty sure the guilt will subside. UT-fan @Michael F. certainly agrees, exclaiming, “Mother of pearl that’s a big beer!” 

One sip and you’ll be convinced that Adroit Theory must have a portal to the Dark Beer underworld — and that they summoned a powerful wave of dark chocolate, tobacco, and the slightest hint of caramel-dipped figs to haunt your palate. 

So please share this with your pickiest Stout companion and watch them be transported into a realm of Rum-induced mayhem. You will both revel in robust, earthy aromas that swell from the pitch-black pour.
