A Note on This Beer
If you’ve been on Tavour for any significant amount of time, you know that we snatch up Adroit Theory’s Dia De Los Muertos whenever we get the chance.
For those new to this boundary-pushing intersection of rich, bold flavor and boozy strength (13.7% ABV!), Dia De Los Muertos is one of the Virginia brewery’s most enduring favorites.
The brewers even call it their “biggest, most robust beer!” And with good reason — the Russian Imperial Stout spills nutty mocha aromas, luring you into deep candied fig and molasses-coated espresso notes on every sip. Embers of semi-sweet dark chocolate malts flicker throughout the pitch-black pour.
The brew toes the line between roasty and silky, providing a full-bodied taste of Adroit’s mastery. But, watch out — the complexity cleverly disguises that massive ABV.
Of all the astounding reviews Dia De Los Muertos has racked up in its tenure, craft fan @Ernie M. probably says it best: “I can't really imagine a no frills, non adjunct Stout could get much better than this one.”
