A Note on This Beer
Doogie Howser Hops: An “extraordinary quantity” of Citra, Galaxy, and Strata Hops. Video Game Flavors: Your palate collects all the flavors, from juicy citrus bombs to bursts of dank papaya, finishing with a grand prize of piney resin. Mega Mouthfeel: This power-collab flows fluffy as a dream!
I think you’ll agree — coming up with a beer name that’s part early-90s sitcom, part Nintendo character, and part canine is pretty darn weird.
But get a sip of today’s Doogie Bowser Double IPA, and you’ll also agree that the flavor masters at KCBC and Aslin get to name their succulent hopbombs anything they choose!
Seriously, this power duo could call their beer “beer” and we’d still suck it down greedily. If you haven’t heard of either brewery, now’s the time to get acquainted.
KCBC (that’s Kings County Brewers Collective) is one of Thrillist’s Best Breweries in NYC. Meanwhile, Aslin Beer Co. holds a higher UT brewery rating than craft giants like 3 Floyds, Anchorage, and Bottle Logic. And they’re responsible for some of the top-rated IPAs on BeerAdvocate!
It’s no surprise that the craft community is already going ga-ga over this pair’s Doogie Bowser, giving it a 4.22 UT score and praising the “lovely fruit medley” swirling inside its silky body.
We don’t know when (or even if) KCBC and Aslin will team up again, so grab your cans now and enjoy IPA prowess at its best.
And with each 8.5% ABV sip, you’ll feel as smart as boy genius Neil Patrick Harris and as powerful as a plumber-fighting, gold-hoarding, dog-turtle creature. Hey, maybe Doogie Bowser isn’t such an odd name after all!
Rated 4.22 from early ratings on Untappd
