About This Beer
River North aged a rich and roasty Stout base first in Kentucky bourbon barrels, then in Colorado straight bourbon barrels. The layered nuances of whiskey and oak imbued this limited-edition sipper with luxurious depth that’s worthy of a special occasion.
Tasting Notes
Each silky sip is like a stunning taste of a top-shelf cocktail — complex and not overly sweet. You know it’s alcoholic, but the booze is far from overwhelming.
Aromas of cocoa, molasses, and tobacco give way to toffee-toned rye notes on the tongue. Dark cherry nuances weaving throughout, along with an undertone of woody vanilla and a whisper of earthiness.

Nice caramel and dark fruit at the beginning. Malts and boozy flavors follow. Very smooth.

Flavor bomb. it’s been a while since I’ve had a regular Shadowman, so I can’t compare, but this one packed a punch. Tons of barrel and tons depth.

Perfectly delicious. Exactly what I want in a barrel age stout. Dark fruit, cherry, toffee, vanilla, boozy, greatness. Loves this beer.
