Mikkeller Brewing is like the Magic Johnson of the beer world. They’re a big-time craft brewing idol!

They started 15 years ago in Copenhagen, snagging Danish Brewery of the Year in their first year running. Since then, they’ve traveled all over the globe to collaborate with other famous breweries, racking up world-class ratings on BeerAdvocate and stacks of awards along the way.

Which is why the blood rushes to my cheeks everytime I look at a can of this Double Blush Imperial Berliner Weisse — it’s like waking up on a lazy Sunday morning to breakfast in bed served by Mikkeller themselves!

Crafted with heaps of real red raspberries and a dose of roasty coffee, Double Blush tastes like having a cold brew in one hand and a raspberry jam-slathered slice of toast in the other.

It’s a delightfully drinkable combination of sweet and roasty that leads fans like @Rasmus S. to believe “there’s some real magic here!”

While you may not actually wake up to your idol serving you breakfast in bed, opening your eyes to some Double Blush from Mikkeller has gotta be the next best thing.

Sweet and sour raspberry for initial taste and very bitter coffee finish. I didn't care for the coffee finish, I felt like I was drinking coffee grinds.

If I could taste the coffee this would get a higher score. As is, it’s a sour fruit bomb - which is good, but if you tell me coffee I need to taste it.

Coffee just ruins this for me. It blends so nicely with dark malts, but takes away from what may have been a really nice beer in this case. My personal taste, obviously others' will vary.

Looks like juice and tastes like pure raspberry. Very high lactic acidity so it’s both sour and tart. Coffee is subtle and gives it a slight jalapeño flavor. Tasty at first, then merely interesting, and finally repetitive. Not bad at all but not great.

This was absolutely bloody atrocious. The tartness from the berries feels like I'm licking a leaky car battery that's been infused with rotten lime juice, and the coffee grounds are barely present enough to make a difference in the flavor. This was just awful.

Let me get this straight, they made a sour beer and it's tart? I'm shocked! If you like tart beer as i do, you will like this. If you don't like tart beer, why buy this and then, when it puckers your mouth, rate it poorly. I don't get it

Very tart - but that’s to be expected. It tastes like if you let raspberry sherbet melt and then had that with some light espresso. Really well balanced with the coffee, actually. Only thing I expected more of was to have a bit more body/head on it when it poured.

Sour sour sour; if that’s your thang you’ll love this. The coffee tries to balance out the raspberry which comes off rather odd. Almost wish it was brewed as a stout.
