A Note on This Beer
I’m not NOT freaking out about today’s GABF gold-winning Imperial Stout.
In case that Double Negative threw you, here’s what I’m saying: I’m absolutely stoked that we got our hands on this decadently dark, sumptuous sipper from the team at Grimm Artisanal Ales.
The folks at Paste magazine described it as “a flawless display of everything a non-pastry Imperial Stout can be” — right after naming the brewery one of the 50 Best American Breweries of the Decade!
And today’s Stout showcases that skill. The jet-black pour swirls with notes of fresh espresso and a hint of plummy dark fruit, while rich flavors of baker’s chocolate, blackstrap molasses, charred wood, and honeyed raisins make for a full-bodied sip. A dry, slightly bitter finish complements the luxuriously smooth mouthfeel, prepping your taste buds for more of the 10% ABV dark delight.
Once you get a sip, you’ll never not want more. Agh! Double negatives!
