A Note on This Beer
Dying on the Forest Floor sounds like the title of an excellent horror movie — the kind where reckless teens get lost in the woods and disappear, one by one.
This terrifyingly delicious Triple IPA comes from deep within the wilderness of rural Maryland, where a 17-acre Christmas tree farm lays abandoned, echoing with the ghostly cries of previous tree seekers.
Just kidding — no ghouls or specters were involved in the making of this brew, although Elder Pine IS on an old tree farm, and this beer is frighteningly smooth for 10% ABV!
Elder Pine double dry hopped it with Simcoe, Citra, and Sultana Hops, so it tastes like a spoonful of creamy honeydew, juicy pear, and sweet papaya. Additions of Simcoe extract, flaked wheat, and golden oats give it an intensely saturated mouthfeel that drips like pine sap.
This Hazy’s delectable cantaloupe taste continues to haunt fans’ palates, who call it “one of the best… ever” and say “Elder Pine may blend Simcoe better than anyone I’ve seen.”
And with a towering 4.27 Tavour rating and a 4.23 on Untappd, there’s no better time to crush this banger and bring this tale to a happy, haze-filled ending.
