About This Beer
Elder Pine began with a Helles Rauchbier, complete with a blend of German beechwood-smoked barley and oak-smoked wheat. The old country malts add a gentler campfire character than their American counterparts, giving it a smooth, balanced sip.
Then the team gave it a twist by adding layers of Lapsang Souchong — an earthy Chinese black tea smoked over pine boughs — during the boil and again after fermentation.
Tasting Notes
Empyreumatic is a distinctly, but delicately, fire-kissed Lager. Rich, bread crust notes come with uniquely woodsy nuances accentuated by a restrained char. And it finishes light, with a clean, cracker-crisp finish.
