A Note on This Beer
Lamplighter Brewing is quickly becoming a hot topic throughout Boston. Eater and The Globe give it rave reviews, even earning Eater Boston’s coveted 2017 Taproom of the Year. And the reason -- their palate tingling beers like Éponine Ale, a Brett-infused, Chardonnay Barrel-Aged lemony brew.
Aged in these oak barrels for 18 weeks, this Belgian-style Blonde (say it 3x fast) is reeling with hints of citrus zest, Chardonnay grape flavors, and funky cedar. These elegant tastes are complemented by a sunny golden pour and effervescent mouthfeel. The 6.8% ABV sneaks right past your palate.
Lamplighter’s taproom shares a space with a coffee shop where you’re likely to hear Harvard undergrads trying to impress each other by quoting Nietzsche. If these hapless Ivy-leaguers looking for love really wanted to impress their dates, though, they’d order a bottle of Éponine -- sharing top shelf barrel-aged beer is way cooler than referencing German philosophers.
