About This Beer
The craft masters at Fonta Flora started with a base made from local barley, caramel, chocolate, and roasted malts. After fermenting with their preferred Stout yeast strain, the crew let it rest in a single freshly dumped, extremely wet, and privately selected Wild Turkey bourbon barrel affectionately nicknamed “humidor.” Following an extended slumber luxuriating in whiskey-oak nuances, the brewers transferred it out of the barrel and bottled it still.
Tasting Notes
Without any adjuncts or carbonation to hide behind, Fonta Flora’s virtuosity is on full display with every sumptuous sip. Notes of dark chocolate and toffee cascade over an extremely roasty backbone. Sublime whispers of barrel char and bourbon on the backend beautifully accentuate the sweetness up front and play brilliantly against the gentle warmth from its bold 14% ABV.
