About This Beer
The crew at OEC developed an inviting base by using a traditional triple decoction method — removing part of the mash and boiling it over higher heat to unlock flavors of rising bread dough and fresh-baked crust.
Then they carefully hopped the brew with Hallertau Mittelfruh for hints of wildflowers and let it rest for a night in their coolship, trapping microflora from the open air. Finally they transferred it to a tank with some of their house yeast and let it ferment slowly before 6 months of conditioning in oak.
Tasting Notes
All that work in the brewing process makes for a crisp, mildly tart brew that might just replace those Lagers and Pilsners for your yard-working, beach-playing, sports-watching occasions. The ultra mellow ABV means you can tip one back just about anytime, and it will add a zing to your refreshment that you just won’t find in other ‘crispy bois.’
