A Note on This Beer
You can call it an Oktoberfest Bier, a Wiesnbier, or an Export Lager — we simply call it: delicious.
Export Lager blooms with the inviting, nuanced flavors of warm brown sugar and freshly baked bread, with a whisper of bright, green apples. The taste mellows into a crisp, clean, and slightly sweet finish.
We’re not the only ones who can’t get enough of this fantastic Lager — the judges at the Oregon Beer Awards gave it a Gold Medal in 2019!
As Lager connoisseurs, Heater Allen crafted it with exclusively European malt. Then, they lagered it for a full six weeks before canning. It’s a brew that sips down clean and smooth — despite its unfiltered nature.
As for the mysterious “13 degrees” on the can, that’s another tribute to the brewery’s dedication to European traditions. It actually stands for “13 Plato,” which is how they measure the fermented sugar content (a.k.a., the ABV) in Europe.
And, unlike those big brand European Lagers at the grocery store, Export Lager only comes around once a year. Once our little 19 case stash is gone, the only thing you’ll be able to call this beer is a missed opportunity.
