About This Beer
To craft this treat, the Alaskan legends started with a rich Barleywine base aged in a mix of Willett, Russell’s Reserve, and Buffalo Trace Mash #1 bourbon barrels for 19 months. Then they blended the brew with Imperial Stout aged 28 months in Hemingway rye barrels before finishing it all on Tahitian vanilla and Thai bananas.
Tasting Notes
We haven’t had the pleasure of trying this one yet, but we’re anticipating sumptuous aromas of mocha and bananas foster perfuming the air with every thick, syrupy pour. The taste should follow, with nuances of chocolate chip banana bread mingling with espresso and whiskey-kissed creme anglaise. Touches of toffee should melt into hints of woody vanilla and barrel spice, the only hints of the 16% ABV.
