It’s been three whole years since we last got our hands on Silver City’s acclaimed Oak-aged Fat Woody Scotch Ale!

Which is kinda nuts, considering we’re in the same state as these Washington craft moguls. But, things aren’t so easy when you’re trying to nab a stash of one of the Top 50 Scotch Ales in the world on BeerAdvocate. Especially when that beer is only released annually, in limited quantities!

We can’t blame our fellow Washingtonians for jumping on each batch like bees on honey. To craft this special sipper, the Silver City crew takes their GABF Gold and World Beer Cup award-winning Scotch Ale base and ages it on American White Oak.

The Scotch Ale’s bold, smokey malt base is subdued by the oak’s vanilla and bourbon caramel notes, mellowing into a smooth sipper with delicious toffee-like complexity.
