A Note on This Beer
It’s not often that we see chocolate covered hazelnut and coconut flavors together in one craft beer. So whenever a brewery nails the decadent dessert, Dark Beer geeks go nuts!
Today’s Fear The Sunset Imperial Milk Stout collab comes from Thrillist’s Best Brewery in NYC — KCBC — and Nightmare, a phantom brewery with no location. Nightmare tornadoed onto the craft beer scene with an earthshaking 4.15 Untappd brewery rating — that’s higher than Holy Mountain, Grimm, and Anchorage!
These two breweries didn’t just recreate this tasty treat, they amped it up to become one of the boldest Pastry Stouts we’ve experienced this year!
First off, they cranked up the ABV to a ginormous 16%!
Then, the brewers packed Fear The Sunset with real hazelnut, tropical coconut, creamy vanilla, and robust coffee. It tastes like a hazelnut, coconut, and mocha ice cream sundae topped with chocolate sauce.
Both Nightmare and KCBC brews sell out quickly on Tavour, so believe us when we warn you that this boozy sundae won’t last long!
*The hazelnuts in this beer were from a nut processing facility that also has peanuts.
