A Note on This Beer
“Dig the Fig!”
That’s what fans shout when New Jersey’s Alementary announces a fresh batch of their decadent, holiday-inspired Figgy Pudding Rum Barrel-Aged Barleywine. Seriously.
And who can blame ‘em?
Especially considering Alementary took home the Silver Medal in Wood + Barrel-Aged Beers at the Best of Craft Beer Awards. And every ounce of Figgy Pudding drips with their award-winning expertise.
This silky 9.1% ABV brew overflows with huge notes of caramelized figs and rum-soaked dates that swell on a backbone of sticky bread pudding — you might even echo the sentiments of @Leticia Y. on Untappd who exclaims:
“Ooh YES! I want this under my Christmas tree while I’m wearing a party hat and getting festive as f***.”
But, with this once-a-year release nearly impossible to find outside of New York and New Jersey, you’ll have to dash faster than Comet or Blitzen if you want a chance at it.
Mostly because only a minuscule 240 bottles are leaving the Garden State through Tavour!
Snagging a bottle will make you giddier than a kid on Christmas! You can dive into its unadulterated waves of rummy molasses and oaky, spiced vanilla and let the heat from the freshly emptied Jamaican Rum Barrels keep you warm all season long.
If you have the patience to not crack this one open as soon as it lands on your doorstep, let Figgy Pudding spend some time mellowing in the cellar. Soon, its notes of melty fudge, candied dates, and booze-soaked figs will reveal themselves in a surge of barrel-aged decadence.
So, load up on a small stash of today’s indulgent rum-drenched Figgy Pudding and join me in shouting, “We dig the fig!”
