A Note on This Beer

No need to fly off to London for a taste of this wintertime treat — the maestros at New Jersey’s Alementary Brewing carefully cooked up a batch of Figgy Pudding Barleywine!

If you don’t already know, Figgy pudding is a traditional British dessert dating back to the 14th century. The cake is filled with dried fruit and soaked in Brandy, then set aside for five weeks before serving!

This time around, you can skip waiting over a month to indulge in this glass of Figgy Pudding. The mad geniuses at Alementary went straight to the lab and infused all of the rich, complex flavors of the dessert into their Barleywine.

The brewers aged this luxurious brew on mounds of dried figs, prunes, apricots, and dates, imbuing swirls of luscious sweetness. These dark fruit melodies blend into bready malt and toffee flavors. And, the pièce de résistance: this special sipper comes with a cozy 9.1% ABV.

This is Alementary’s 5th year crafting Figgy Pudding. With Untappd ratings for previous releases never dipping below a 4.14, it only makes sense they’d whip up another batch!

We only have 180 bottles of this year’s seasonal release for all of Tavour. It’s best to act fast so you too can enjoy a taste of this tried and true English treat —no travel or baking expertise required!

The bartenders at Alementary have been serving up this Figgy Pudding as a mulled beer with cinnamon and extra figs — sounds like a delicious recipe to try at home!

With Tavour, it's easy to beer it forward! Just head over to Tavour.com/gifts to send a gift box or gift card to the craft beer lover in your life. Cheers!

Super underwhelming. No body, limited spices flavor, not a delicious Barleywine

I was honestly expecting more out of it. It tastes kind of muted and I would definitely NOT age this. Wouldn't buy this again honestly

Drinks like an old ale, not so much English barleywine. Decent sweetness with little heat. Gets more complex as it warms.
