About This Beer
The DSSOLVR crew teamed up with the “like-minded dessert freaks” at Coven Brewing to craft this decadent Pastry Stout. They started with a base made from Riverbend Malt Southern Select and a whole bevy of Proximity Specialty Malts for a robust and roasty backbone. Then, they cranked up the sweets with cinnamon, maple, maple granola, toasted coconut, vanilla beans, vanilla cake, and macaroon coconut.
Tasting Notes
Each sumptuous sip is like taking a bite out of a french toast stack smothered in syrup and topped with whipped cream and chocolate chips. Dark malty notes carry hints of baking spice, maple, cake frosting, and creamy coconut to a luxuriously satisfying finish.

It’s got a little unpleasant aftertaste but the coconut, vanilla, and maple flavors are all there. not a beer i would come back to again and again but better than a pencil in the eye

sweet and smooth.

I'm happy to say it's as decadent as it smells. I enjoy a "mouth feel" to my beer and this has it. There's a toasty sweetness, a layer of nuttiness, and some delightful butter maple flavors. I enjoyed this beer COLD, versus becoming warm by being out of the fridge as we drank it. This is the first beer we were able to identify so many different individual food/desert-type flavor characteristics.

French toast really comes through, and pretty good for a dark beer.

I mean the name alone gets points. Actually rather tasty but has a little bit of unexpected bitterness that doesn’t quite work.

A whole lot going on. Lots of maple and some cinnamon. Maybe too many adjuncts.
