A Note on This Beer
Travel + Leisure named San Diego’s Pure Project one of the Top 3 Local Breweries in the U.S. Though interestingly, the brewery got its start in Costa Rica.
Friends Jesse Pine and Mat Robar ran Manuel Antonio Brewing Co. for an eventful two years in the beachside town of Manuel Antonio. But, being from the brewing metropolis of San Diego, they couldn’t resist the call to return home. And, they brought the brewery with them.
Renamed Pure Project (after Costa Rica’s “Pura Vida” mantra), the brewery is now a staple in the city with a huge local following!
The real reason behind the brewers’ momentum is, of course, their delicious beer. Today’s Fingers of Gold brims with flavors as tropical as Pure Project’s Costa Rican origins, thanks to an impressive lineup of Cashmere, Citra, El Dorado, Motueka, and Mandarina Bavaria Hops.
Flavors of cantaloupe and sweet tangerine wash in upfront, flowing into refreshing notes of raw coconut and dank papaya. The finish is ripe mango with a soft breadiness, leaving you craving another sip almost as soon as the first one is down.
We only have less than 30 cases of this brew to go around though. Will you get your fingers on Fingers of Gold?
