A Note on This Beer
It would take me 5 hours and 40 minutes to drive from my home in Seattle to Block 15’s brewery and taproom in Corvallis, Oregon. I’ve strongly considered biting the bullet and hitting the road.
What can I say? Block 15’s dexterous crew took home double GOLD at the 2020 Oregon Beer Awards. They also sport gold from the Great American Beer Festival, AND they recently made PorchDrinking’s list of best breweries in the craft-soaked state!
After a few plush swigs of today’s Hazy IPA, I fully understand the excitement surrounding these hop masters.
The highly-skilled brewers crafted Fluffhead with heaps of Mosaic, Chinook, and Azacca Hops for all the fruity flavors necessary to feel like you’re in the taproom yourself.
Pour this lavish nectar into a glass, and aromas of dewy papaya flirt with subtle hints of tangerine. Take a sip, and let its fresh, tropical tang tangle with a tart burst of OJ and a pinch of spruce, all from the hops. Meanwhile, flaked oats provide a mouthfeel that's softer than silk.
With this palate-refreshing can in hand, the only thing missing is a few adirondack chairs, an ice-packed cooler, and a couple craft buddies to share it with. No 6-hour road trips required!
