About This Beer
According to the Norse specialists at SonsOfVikings.com, beer was likely the most plentiful drink in the Viking world. In the wintertime, Vikings particularly enjoyed Dark Farmhouse Ales for warmth and sustenance. So, when the brewers at Little Beast wanted some cozy goodness of their own in cold, rainy Portland, Oregon, they created Folkvangr Dark Farmhouse Ale!
Tasting Notes
This Dark Saison-style Farmhouse Ale is hearty and bold, brimming with flavors of dried fruit and mocha, and punctuated with just a little earthy funk and tartness. The hops add floral and herbal nuances along with a hint of peppery spice, while the Kviek yeast amps up notes of date and fig.

A fascinating blend of wheat and dark roasty flavors with a bit of funk. Very quaffable. Fun and interesting, but I don’t need to have it again.

Initially tastes like a bad Bud Light, but rounds out with some maltiness. Not a huge fan, wouldn’t order again.

I wouldn’t drink this again it’s a dark ale has some flavor but it’s not anything special ... Tavour subscription pick that was a poor one for me ... this beer snob doesn’t want average

A nice, and tasty little pint of cold brew coffee. The perfectly clean start , then finish of bitter iced coffee. Not too heavy or sweet.

Enjoyable glass, dark but not overbearing. Complexity enough and quite distinctive ingredients. Really glad I tried it and would have again.

good dark ale. the coffee and chocolate notes blend well and stay in the background so don’t overpower.

It's perfect for a mildy cool, overcast day. It's dark, but mild. The hint of coffee in it makes it stand out, & I'm usually against coffee in beer
