A Note on This Beer
Hype-othetical Hops: DUBCO loads this juicebomb with fruity potency from Sabro, Idaho-7, and Motueka Hops. Pie-entific Flavors: Every silky sip bangs with citrusy-sweet flavors of lemon meringue and candied pineapple, followed by a touch of earthy dankness.
One craft fan online called today’s For Science 9.0 “straight-up lemon meringue pie. Delicious!”
So, I decided to test his findings. And after cracking into the can and taking my first swig, there was only one conclusion — by golly, it IS straight-up lemon meringue pie!
The brewers at Destination Unknown “scienced” the hops in this IPA into tasting like a delectable slice of citrus-cream pastry. Normally, you’d have to use some special adjuncts to get this kind of flavor in an IPA. But not DUBCO!
They solidified their place as one of the best breweries in The Empire State when their hoppy brews won medals at the New York State Craft Beer Competition AND the TAP New York Beer Festival last year.
But their For Science IPAs have long been the big apple of hopheads’ eyes in NYC — just check out DUBCO’s juice-thirsty fans on release days. They often buy up every last drop within mere hours!
Lucky for you, we nabbed a sizable slice of this newest release for Tavour before DUBCO’s fans could decimate the taproom stash. Which means, you can be one of the only people outside of the Northeast to test out the pie-like complexity of these hops for yourself!
