As the smell of fireplaces begins wafting through the neighborhood and candy corn crops up on grocery store shelves, my heart beats with the sound of leaves crunching beneath my feet.

And nothing says autumn is here like pumpkin beer!

For my fellow Pumpkin Heads, Hoppin’ Frog has captured the ethos of scarves, football, and fresh school supplies with their GABF-winning Frog’s Hollow Double Pumpkin!

Tasting Notes

This ale is chock full of pumpkin. The brew’s malts brighten the ‘gourd-geous’ flavor and naturally sweeten it, while cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, allspice, and clove provide the tingling accents necessary for fall’s classic confection — pumpkin pie.

But this pie has a surprising kick! Don’t let the light body and smooth pumpkin finish trick you — the 8.4% ABV is a real treat!

Daily Corona battle. All the Fall on the nose, terrific spice going down. Plenty of nutmeg and pumpkin, noticeable cinnamon and just really well balanced. Nothing overpowers nor seems to lack. Terrific pumpkin ale.

Not bad, but the spice is a little strong and it's so heavy it drinks almost like a stout. I think I would enjoy this one more on a cold winter day.

Heady brown ale by itself. Smacks of mostly nutmeg up front, but not overly sweet. A hint of cinnamon as the vegetal pumpkin comes through, then warms a little as it finishes maple and malty. Bright flavor profile stands out from the norm.
