About This Beer
One glance at that enormous ABV, and you know this isn’t your average Lager.
Its thick pour carries scents of caramelized brown sugar and toffee, while the sip is full of sweet, holiday spice from Hoppin’ Frog’s Swiss Lager yeast.
Tasting Notes
As you drink, subtle notes of dark fruit, butterscotch, and nutmeg will dance like goody-gumdrops across the palate. It’s so desserty, you could leave it out for Santa instead of cookies. But once you get a taste, you probably won’t want to.

These Swiss celebration lagers are always a touch too sweet for me, but this one grew on me as I drank it.

. 2022 vintage; 14.1% ABV. Ruby red pour. Dense, creamy tan head. Rich, earthy, toasted malt aroma. Big bittersweet notes upfront. Boozy and intense. Sweet caramel, dried fruits and sherry-like notes. Wonderfully complex. Quite interesting. Very reminiscent of the Schloss Eggenberg Samichlaus Classic I had the other night. Yum!

Plenty of flavors to celebrate here, without being too sweet. Better enjoyed over the winter, though.

Very smooth flavor, delightful on the front and back end. The strong A.B.V, comes on about 5 minutes later putting you in relax mode. Hoppin Frog never disappoints, always top notch!

if you can make something above 14% abv that drinks like a pilsner at a baseball game you deserve a high score.
