As kids, my brother and I were inseparable -- we were best friends, and always looked forward to the yearly trip to Sisters, OR for a camping weekend in the woods. We were just on the phone reminiscing about these trips -- playing cowboy, eating s’mores, and skipping rocks on the lake. We’re wanting to revive the tradition, but we are just too busy and thousands of miles separate us.

Thankfully, we have a keepsake of Sisters ready anytime our calendars open up, and its roasty, rich aroma reminds us of that coffee our folks brewed every morning at the campsite: Frontier Justice Coffee Stout. 

And then we decide -- there’s no time like present and we open our bottles over the phone. The first nutty dark chocolate sip makes us feel sweetly nostalgic. “How did they cram so much coffee essence in this beer?” he asked.

4-pounds-per-barrel of Sumatran beans. It’s a jolt of flavor that helps us work through the big stuff: career changes, car insurance, our kids. And with each drop of the well-balanced, subtly sweet espresso booze, I’m right back there skipping rocks with my big bro.

We finish our bottles, and get off the phone to return to our daily grind, looking forward to the next talk down memory lane. And we’ll come prepared -- we each have a few extra bottles of Frontier Justice waiting in the fridge.
