A Note on This Beer
For the second year in a row, the GABF and Best of Craft Beer award winners at GoodLife have teamed up with one of my favorite musicians to create G. Love’s Special Sauce - The Juice IPA.
If you’re not familiar with G. Love, he’s an awesome blues-rock recording artist who plays an annual show at GoodLife’s Bend, Oregon taproom. He’s also an avid homebrewer, and a pretty good one from what I hear. The dude made his first IPA as a project for his Junior year chemistry class back in 1990!
And he definitely knows how to enjoy a cold one. Just check out these lyrics from “Cold Beverage,” one of my favorite tracks:
“When I’m fishing
Let’s keep one thing clear
The baits over there
The brews right here
Two 6 packs and big bag of ice
Didn’t even catch a bite
But the brew tasted nice.”
Damn right! That’s how you fish! With a cooler full of mighty nice-tasting beer like The Juice.
But you gotta get it while it’s around! None of these cans are leaving the Northwest and GoodLife changes the recipe every year, so once this year’s version is gone, it’s gone forever.
Whether you’re out fishing or just kickin’ back on the porch with some buddies, this IPA will keep you groovin’ with 3lbs per barrel of Mandarina Bavaria, Mosaic, Centennial, Amarillo, and Comet Hops.
Crack open the can and get ready to jam out with tropical mandarin and ripe grapefruit. Bushels of berries bounce across the palate like a drum solo while a bouquet of floral notes keep things nice and relaxed. It finishes dry with a hint of piney resin, and the 6.8% ABV means you can chill all day.
So next time your buddies drop by for a brew, throw on some tunes, pour some brews, and get relaxed. You’ll be livin’ the GoodLife with G. Love in no time!
