When is it acceptable to start celebrating Christmas?

We all have our traditions, but for me, the holidays officially start when I get a taste of the latest vintage of Gingerbread Stout!.

This recipe propelled Hardywood Park into craft superstardom way back in 2012 after medaling at the World Beer Cup! It’s become a craft tradition for Virginians ever since, and a welcome cold-weather staple for anyone lucky enough to try it.

Made with Virginia-grown Hawaiian white ginger, local wildflower honey, milk sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla, it’s got everything you want in a warming Yuletide bevvy.

Rich baking spices conjure nostalgia for grandma’s kitchen as they weave through ribbons of rich honey sweetness. Hints of semi-sweet chocolate, bread pudding, and brown sugar follow, flooding the palate with seasonal cheer!

Look: dark (almost black), very small head, little lacing Smell: roast, ginger bread (cookie), honey, small spice (cinnamon?) Taste: front end sweet stout, mid taste we get intense honey, backend we get gingerbread cookie and far trailing end we get roast and a bit of booze. Feel: full mouthfeel, a bit of carbonation and then bittering end notes give a bit drying on the end feel We are from Portland OR area and lived in Virginia for a while. We love Hardywood. They are very creative and fun. This beer is interesting because it is intense honey with gingerbread cookie; and full mouthfeel probably from the lactose. There is not intense vanilla or cinnamon, but the flavors profile is all gingerbread cookie mid drink, exactly what it says. It is a 9.2 ABV but they hide it well for those that are not big boozy beer drinkers.
