About This Beer
Goat Destroyer is a Maibock –– a lush, pale take on a traditional German Bock with a bit more hoppy character. Originally brewed to commemorate the Cubbies winning the World Series, its name is a double entendre referencing the breaking of Chicago’s Curse of the Billy Goat, and the meaning of the beer style’s name –– “ein back,” German for billy goat.

The 'Goat' has peaked my interest in maibocks. A big malty and slightly hoppy sipping lager. Perfect ending to a spring day.

Perfect Maibock… gorgeous orange color, nice head, slightly sweet flavor, reminds you of Octoberfest.

Really nice malty smooth Maibock ! Right up there with the traditional German versions.

Loved this one. Big malt and caramel flavor, just the right side of sweet. You don’t notice the bigger ABV until the slight buzz kicks in.

It’s got a lot going on. Slight caramel tastes add some interesting complexity to it, but I didn’t find it as quaffable as other lagers.
