A Note on This Beer
The Gose style can be a little straight-laced, especially when it doesn’t deviate from the traditional barley, wheat, coriander, and salt.
But not today. Today, it’s Gose Gone Wild!
Uninhibited, flavorful brews like this have boosted Stillwater’s popularity among craft fiends and racked up call-outs from NPR, Food & Wine, and The New York Times — all have listed this brewery as one of the Top 100 in the World!
Stripping away convention, Stillwater borrowed Westbrook Brewing’s beloved Gose recipe and amped it up with massive doses of Citra and Amarillo Hops. Then, they fermented it with multiple strains of Brettanomyces yeast.
The result is a bubbly yellow pour with aromas of strong citrus — and it isn’t afraid to let loose a whole plethora of flavors! There’s solid funk action going on here, along with notes of sourdough, sweet-tart grapefruit, lemongrass, and a kick of refreshing salinity.
And even though the toasted bread and crisp apple finish will keep you coming back for more, the friendly and easy-going 4.3% ABV makes sure things don’t get too out of hand.
So grab a few cans of Gose Gone Wild, call up a couple buddies, and get ready to kick back with the beer that’s scored a near-perfect 98 out of 100 on Beeradvocate!
On that note, be forewarned that the hype around this brew is pretty intense. Might be best to just keep this one between you and your closest friends — everyone’s gonna want to sneak a peek at Gose Gone Wild!
