A Note on This Beer
The year is 1997. Nobody can stop talking about Titanic, and for some reason, “Barbie Girl” is everywhere on the radio. But something far more amazing is happening in the beer community — several breweries have started releasing resinous, pine-forward IPAs! Known as the West Coast Style, these beers will go on to spark the modern craft craze.
Boom! Now the year is 2020. The internet is the source of all entertainment, and as for beer, Hazy IPAs abound everywhere you look. But hold up, what’s this? Trophy Brewing is paying homage to those pioneering brews of days past! Their Gotta Go Back is one coniferous hopbomb, done in the style of 90s West Coast IPAs!
Trophy coaxes out forest notes and flashes of citrus from Simcoe and Citra Hops. Every 7.3% ABV mouthful is clean and sippable, with plenty of piney hop bitterness on the finish to leave you satisfied.
But just like a great West Coast-style IPA is tough to find these days in the sea of Hazies, this brew isn’t easy to spot outside of North Carolina.
So, you might as well take full advantage of the moment. Slip into your baggiest jeans and throw on some episodes of Daria while you’re sipping this hopbomb. You may not be able to actually travel through time, but you can still kick back, 90s style!
