A Note on This Beer

Just call me Winnie-the-Pooh, because I’d do anything to snatch up every last drop of today’s honey-stuffed hopbomb.

Oh bother! I’m talking about Greed from Anchorage Brewing!

In case you missed it the last time they let some cases leave Alaska, this is a TRIPLE IPA positively soaked in 300lbs of honey per batch!

It’s got a mouthfeel so pillowy soft, the fact that it packs an 8.4% ABV leaves me downright bewildered.

And, that’s not all.

Gabe Fletcher and his hop-obsessed brew crew loaded Greed with indulgent amounts of passionfruit-laced Southern Passion and tropical Ekuanot Hops. Then, they double dry-hopped it with Enigma, Vic Secret, and Simcoe for even more crave-inducing waves of soft, sweet juice.

I’m not alone in my obsession with this honey ‘n hops confection. Like little greedy Pooh Bears yourselves, you Tavoursters gobbled up the last stash and gave it a 4.25 Tavour score! I grabbed as many cans as I could this time around, but you’ll still have to move fast if you want a supply to make it to your door.

But hey, just like the real Winnie-the-Pooh, you don’t even have to wear pants when it does!

Sip Magazine calls out Anchorage Brewing for crafting “some of the most coveted pours on the global craft scene!”

Solid DIPA, honey hint didn’t make it too sweet which was nice. Nice hop profile, not as inspiring as Bite IIIPA though, hard to top that one.

I have never had a beer from Anchorage that I did not love. More of the same here. Cheers!

The honey in this is pretty crazy! You don’t taste it on the tip of the tongue, but on the finish you want to lick the thick flavor off your teeth.

Good but leans sweet and malty. The honey clearly comes out as a lingering taste and has a good balance with the bitterness. Solid if you like malty west coast IPAs but want less hop bite.

Honey with a boozy feel to it. This TIPA has such a smooth, soft mouthfeel. Notes of candied orange dance across the tongue.

Honey shines through the hoppy goodness with nicely balanced bitterness. Went well with Moroccan Lamb meatballs.
