A Note on This Beer
Oak conditioned Pilsners are just so TASTY!
We’re not the only ones who love them; some of the highest-rated Pils on Untappd are brewed in Oak, like Finback’s Points Beyond and Deschutes’ Pilsner Pie.
But today’s Greenhouse Pils CZ Saaz Hops Oak Foudre froze us like deer in the headlights. With a 4.06, it has the highest initial UT-rating we’ve seen for a Pils all year!
Here’s why it’s so flavorful:
- Special Hops: These iconic noble hops from the Saaz region of the Czech Republic helped define the Czech Pilsner style with their delicately grassy, enchantingly spiced, and sweet floral aromas.
- Fancy Oak: Substantial oak character from American Oak Foudres adds depth and creaminess to the crisp Lager without overpowering its simplicity. The oak adds a subtle toasted marshmallow note that softens the hop character and makes it especially great for warm-weather drinking.
*Paste Mag, Forbes, and the New York Times all praise Evil Twin as one of the most celebrated breweries in the country!

How hard is it to fuck up a Pilsner? Apparently not hard at all, since this was bland as fuck and even my 64 year old mother thought it wasn’t all that.
