A Note on This Beer

JIMINY CRICKETS! Parish and J. Wakefield just teamed up to brew a guava and coconut-infused Berliner Weisse!

These crews are enough to get me screeching like a preteen at their first concert. Parish catapulted to the craft beer forefront after Thrillist gave them the #1 spot on their list of 10 Louisiana Beers To Try Before You Die. Vinepair, meanwhile, named J. Wakefield one of the 10 Best Breweries in America just last year!

And, the way this crazy-smooth guava-bomb zings across my taste buds like a spritzy tiki cocktail ain’t helpin’ calm me down, either!

Every light and tangy sip of Greetings From Wynwood is a mouthful of juicy pink guava, with toasted coconut bringing nuances of creamy, sweet vanilla to round it out.

In an ideal world, I’d be kicking back on a white, sandy Florida beach, and slurping this brew out of a coconut husk adorned with a tiny umbrella.

In reality, I’ll be chilling out at home, desperately savoring every sip out of a pint glass till my stash runs dry. Because, as soon as this one-off release runs out, we probably won’t ever see it again!

Guava is there but I think the coconut drowns it out.

Great blend of guava and coconut. Not cloyingly sweet and done very well. Dangerously smooth.

This was a solid expression of a fruited beer. So much complexity and the flavors were everywhere. 4.2/5

Sweet, tropical waves in the nose. Huge hits of coconut as soon as it hits your palate and then it almost pulses between guava, coconut, and peach throughout the sip. Sweet, subtle brightness hits at the end. This one is fantastic. Well done, Parish!

Two of my favorite brewers! This is how you make a balanced fruit sour. The Berliner base provides a perfect foundation for the guava and coconut flavors. Way too easy to drink.

During our beer-tasting dinner, this was a big favorite!!! The guava is perfectly balanced with just a subtle hint of coconut. Effervescent and fresh; we all agreed it was dangerously drinkable and delicious! Wish I had purchased more than 4.

The lime and kiwi from Parish’s original Greetings from Grand Isle are swapped out for guava, making for something less astringent and aloof. The guava-coconut combination actually tastes pretty much like peach.
