Mikkeller’s San Diego brewery is a dream come true for West Coast craft fans. I’m thinking at some point in the future I’ll have to rent a van and make the trip down from Seattle to stock up.

Because in case you haven’t heard of them, Mikkeller is like the Michael Jordan of craft!

Seriously. They started nearly 15 years ago in Copenhagen, snagging Danish Brewery of the Year in their first year running! These former craft-nomads are renowned all over the world, with stacks of world-class ratings on BeerAdvocate and piles of awards.

And today, you get VIP access to Guava Gang, their Gose-style Ale brewed with real pink guava and sea salt. This limited-edition brew tantalizes the tongue with layers of bright, tropical fruit and tangy citrus!

It won’t stick around long though, so grab it while you can!

Based on suggestion, I warmed this up before opening. Guava aromatics delicately explode out of the glass. Salt is prominent but works in tandem. Overall refreshing and balanced.

This was incredible! Why did we give two away baffles me! It is rich with flavor, no real bitterness on the tongue and the reason I live for this style of beer. Because I don’t like Hops! Odd you say...maybe! I’m married to a hop head and know his profile better than my own! I do know that if you don’t care for the bitterness and dank of hops you’d love this refreshing, guava and pineapple forward Gose style liquid happiness!

It's in the name, Guava is the star here. I'm opening up to the tart/sours and this one was juicy and satisfying.
